The SF OpenGuide (a wiki-ish guide to things in San Francisco) has built in mapping and locating. The service uses free maps from Map Bureau and geocoding from geocoder.us.
They'd like to expand to cover the East Bay as well.
SF Openguide: "This site is written by real humans, including you!" They cover bars and restaurants, local wireless, and politics using Wikipedia for collaboration.
