David M. Johnson is a Blog Software Architect for Sun Microsystems. A software developer, blogger and writer who lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, Mr. Johnson is the developer of Roller, blog server software that he created for an O'Reilly Network article titled Building An Open Source J2EE Weblogger.
In 2004, Sun Microsystems decided to encourage its employees to speak freely on mailing lists, newsgroups, forums and, especially, blogs. Sun created blogs.sun.com using Roller and later, Mr. Johnson joined the Sun.com team to develop and support Roller and other blog technologies.
He is also the author of RSS and Atom In Action, a new book about using blog, wiki and feed technologies to develop interesting new applications and to enable new ways of collaboration.
