David Rubin
Brand Development Director, Axe, Unilever HPC NA
David Rubin has been with the Axe Brand since before its launch in North America, joining the team in 2000. He was responsible for the launch plans of Axe Deodorant Bodyspray to young guys in the U.S. On Axe, he has led several advertising campaigns, pioneered Axe's viral marketing, developed a video game and led several national events including one that led to a national TV program on Spike. He and Axe have won numerous awards, including Cannes Lions, Guerrilla Marketer of the Year from Brandweek, Ad Age's Top 50 Marketers of 2004 and several Reggie awards for promotions and events.
Mr. Rubin joined Unilever in 1999, also working on Dove and Degree. He also worked for a US Congressman and in economic policy at the U.S. Treasury. He is a 1999 MBA Graduate of the Wharton school of Business and received a bachelor's degree in history from Yale University.
He and his wife live in Chicago. He has run 3 marathons and is an avid video gamer.
